Several methods of interactions are used by Security Professionals to improve effectiveness and maximize Security Professional safety. Knowledge of interaction dynamics and techniques help Security Professionals assess the safety hazards present in a given situation.
Security Professional safety is the primary concern at all times. Do not perform activities that are hazardous, if they can be avoided, especially when, with awareness and some tactical thinking, a safer alternative course of action is readily available.
Security Professional safety means Security Professionals acting in a manner that minimizes the hazards of patrolling and interacting.
All the knowledge you learn to be a Security Professional combines to keep you safe. Proper radio communications keep you in updated contact with your support team. Proper stance and verbalization act as a deterrent to escalation during interactions. Recognizing pre-crime activity aids, you in spotting a potentially hazardous situation. It all matters.

Complete building evacuation. Utilize nearest stairwells and exits to guide all Staff, clients and guests out of the building in a timely and efficient manner (fire, bomb threat, alarms, etc.)
Complete evacuation of all staff members. Staff members in the zone area will be escorted out through the main entrance onto Coney Island Avenue. Staff members in the Cafeteria will utilize nearest exits (where it is safe) onto Coney Island avenue.
All movement in the facility comes to a STOP. No one is to be granted entrance into the facility, Post 1 will ask all clients to remain inside the Cafateria until code is clear. Posts 2A and 3A will post in front of stairwell A, any clients attempting to move during this Code must be asked to return to their dorm until code is clear. This is in response to any incident throughout the facility where the Operations manager and Duty sergeant must respond. Guards 2B and 3B must respond to code. Once the situation is contained, movement can resume.
Movement should resume ONLY in the designated zone area, but no movement is allowed on the floors until Code Yellow is lifted
